Jackrabbit: what are you using that requires so much ammo searching? A single soldier's ammo loadout should last him his entire lifetime.
This is true, and it's only been a problem a few times. Chief among them was the mission where you're part of a penal battalion and your guys have like thirty shots with their rifles, but I managed to get through that okay. If what Ozy says is true, and I don't doubt him, then that's all I need, really, because I don't mind getting ammo for one person, it was taking the time to get it for everyone which was a pain in the ass.

Another time it was a problem was in one of the hold the line missions but in that one, much like every other hold the line mission, almost everyone in the first line of defense was dead by the time I could pull back to the second one so the point was kinda moot.

Also, I just played the Russian sneaking mission. Man does it rock. Too bad one of the main characters has the voice and personality of a cheese grater.

There's a clump of 8 or so enemies all in the same spot that I can't remove no matter what. Toss a grenade from any angle, one spots me walking or notices the grenade. Alarm. Use a throwing knife, spotlight guy sees me before I'm close enough. Alarm. Take out spotlight guy, they notice his death. Alarm. Take them down simultaneously. Alarm from absolutely nowhere.

I don't know what game you're playing, I got noticed several times on the first Russian sneaking mission (I assume that's the one you're talking about, it sounds similar) and I never got an alarm because I took the guys out before they could reach the place. It sounds like you aren't paying attention to other people that are in your targets line of sight and near an alarm. It could also be that you're killing too many people. You're not allowed to do that, it is a sneaking mission. Whether or not you think that's an arbitrary restriction is up to you, but it is a restriction and you're going to have to abide by it if you want to win.

Also, in regards to the grenade, first of all the people need to be isolated to prevent someone hearing it and issuing an alarm, and second if you go into direct control and hold down the button, you can cook the grenade and detonate it the second it hits the ground. My favorite instance of this was when one optimistic German pick up the grenade, raised it above his head and it went off.

Hey, Umiman, I think I'm falling prey to the same thing you did. The first time I played the Penal Battalion mission I made it to the hill with eight men left and got slaughtered. Second time, I actually used (God forbid) tactics and commons sense, and was methodical about it, and made it with something like thirty people and five medium tanks.

Jackrabbit: Hahaha, yeah. The voice acting is so bad! But it's actually really funny after awhile and I appreciate they took the effort to put voices in. And yup, generally speaking, soldiers die like flies so there shouldn't be any problem with ammo. In fact, if you run out of ammo you should consider that an achievement in survival and killing. Also, Ozy is right, you can use squads to pick up loot and it autosorts. Just not really well with guns but again... you probably won't notice as everyone is going to die!

I'm getting better at actually using squads and keeping them alive, so I'm very happy. And if the leader autosorts, that's really all I needed in the first place. My men aren't often without weapons.

EDIT: SCRATCH THAT THEY'RE GOING DOWN LIKE LEMMINGS OH GOD

I was playing Red Tide but got stuck on the mission where you have to assault a heavily fortified german position with a line of antipersonel mines followed by a trench full of MGs and backed up by several AT guns, and all you have are a few light tanks and infantry squads with standard rifles and smgs.  Not sure how I can get through that.

On Steam or on the game, Ozy?

I'm looking but I can't find you. I don't play online all that often but I'm in the lobby under "ThisOldManDroid" and my Steam ID is [DFC] Jackrabbit.

Hahaha mandroid oh man.

Anyway, I had to go. Sorry, thanks for the offer. I'll be on later today.

1.7 something. I downloaded it off Steam around three days ago, I'd assume it'd be latest.

Yeah, sorry about that. My own computer can't run it and so I need to mooch off my dad, who works from home, so yeah.

I'll hit you up next time I have an hour or two to kill.

EDIT: I played a few hours with Woose (sorry, I've known him for a while and never played anything with him). We lost a co-op match (fun!) and then played against each other.

He won. Nothing else happened. If he says he mopped the floor with me, he is lying. If he claimed he won 400 points to 91 he is lying. He did not leave my asshole in ruins. That did not happen.

Oookay then, I'll believe that, honest ;)

Also, I saw you were playing, but didn't want to bother you =p

I wish they would release more info on the standalone expansion being developed. If I haven't mentioned it already, one of the biggest features is a sort of co-op skirmish mode similar to the frontlines game mode (At least I think it's similar to frontlines)

I'm on the first american mission. There's a group of germans near the front door of the base. They're all on the same spot, it's a pile of backpacks with a bunch of weapons sticking out, like they spawned ontop of each other.
