Sorry if I came off as a bit rude, it's just that I've seen a lot of native English-speakers who really just don't know their own language...  I've started getting tired of people just not knowing the difference between "moral" and "morale".

Made this a while ago, though I'd post it here cause I can.

By the way, there is a zombie mod, it just hasn't been updated at all =/

Also, I've never played this game online. I'm not very good with competition, and I'm kinda bad at this game, despite liking it so much =P

I have absolutely no idea on how the american campaign is supposed to work. I have 4 guys I need to get to the other side of the map without raising an alarm. I have a garand, that when fired, triggers the alarm, two welrods, that fail to hit pretty much anything, causing the victim to sound the alarm and a a guy who's attack is a grenade that he drops at his own feet half of the time. Melee attacks also make the target spin around, raise his gun, wound/kill the attacker and sound the alarm. I can't go loud because that will spawn an infinte amount of germans that only drop a hat and an (empty) mp40. I tried sneaking, which fails because sooner or later, a patrol spawns on top of me and raises the alarm(if not instakilling me with a pair of mg42's at point blank range) or on top of a body on the other side of the map, which also sics everyone on me. Lastly, I tried just running to the target and I'm told I first need to kill the (infinitely respawning) patrol before I can continue. The narrator yells at me to move the bodies out of the way but I can't find any method for that anywhere.

You can shoot out lights with the silenced pistols some of your guys have, this will distract the guards a little and make it harder for ze Germans to spot you. Basically the only guys you should attempt to kill (if you try to kill anyone, save and try for a face shot with a silenced pistol) are the two before you meet the informant, and you will HAVE to use a grenade on them, so save at least one. As for your "hide bodies" dilemma, open you inventory, and click and drag the corpse to it, i think this will work, then drag and drop to remove it, this doesn't really do much, Germans who have the body in their LoS will usually see it, even if it's behind a fence and in a bush...

And remember this is the American campaign, you unlock it last because it's supposed to be the hardest, and of course if you mess up a little the entire third Reich will teleport to you.

I remember that mission. It's a pain in the ass, it is. I managed to beat it on easy with no fog of war by picking people off one at a time and hiding them in bushes. I had the whole place pretty much cleared out. It's very difficult to do.

You can right click and drag things from the bottom right menu into the bottom panel, so if you find yourself using an action a lot I suggest you do that. This works for things like the laying mines action, or the deploy sandbags/hedgehogs/wire option in multiplayer. For this mission I had a button set to the "pick up" option, so I could quickly pick up the corpse and drop it where needed.

If you keep missing with the pistol, shoot again. The pistol is a one hit kill and if you manage to kill them even after missing the first shot you can avoid raising the alarm if you're fast enough. Alternatively use throwing knives or get close before shooting. EDIT 3: Also, always lay prone when shooting the pistol, it's more accurate that way. You won't be able to shoot streetlights while prone, I don't think, though.

Or try watching youtube playthroughs, or try it in co-op (though that doesn't have saving)

The mission is still possible when the alarm is raised, but it's a pain in the arse ass.

EDIT: This game can be really unforgiving.

EDIT 2: Speaking of co-op, would anybody be interested in a game?

Still haven't figured out pick up corpses, which is kind of gamebreaking now that there's one in a garden that always gets spotted by a patrol that spawns on top of it in a cinematic.

In order to pick up corpses you need to have two full rows of inventory space available.

Then in the bottom right go to "more action" )the gear icon or whatever) and select "pick up" then click the corpse. Like I said before, you can right click and drag the 'pick up' option into the bottom bar thingy if you plan to use it a lot

late EDIT: I've got a series of 5 videos on youtube with me and my friend playing the first level, though I don't know if anybody would be interested considering it's like 45 minutes total.

Alright, so. Necro'd the thread to say I bought this game today. Friggin fantastic, I love it. I think the second Russian mission sold me on it. At the start of it I was fighting intense, room-to-room battles to reclaim lost ground and by the end of it I had lost so many men and was being pushed back so far that I was on the edge of my seat saying to myself "this is a clusterfuck, oh Jesus." In case you're wondering, about seven people survived out of the 150-so but for each man I lost my men took down 5 Germans. It was amazingly visceral and I loved it. At one point, I managed to take out a half track by ramming it with a tank and flipping it over. Hilarious.

Oh, Asehujiko? All your points, as far as I can tell, are good ones if this doesn't suit your play style, but if someone tells me "this is a game where one of your men can kick away a grenade in the direction of a fuel dump, which sends all your men sky-high" then I would play the game right there and then. It's Dwarf Fortress, I swear, nowadays half the time I play to lose in the funniest way possible.

EDIT: Okay, has there been a patch that's added automatic ammo searching? Because it's a pain in the ass and the one thing that takes away from the experience.

I commandeered a 150mm gun on the first single mission and in a single shot I ripped off half a building's top floor, completely leveled another, broke a thread on a Panzer 4 and completely exploded a Wirbelwind(exploded as in "apply turret to skybox and cover half the screen with explosion bloom"). I then found out that those guns weren't meant for being taken and had absolutely no ammo beyond what they had chambered when they changed hands so I expended the other 2 as well on what little remained of the german resistance and send in a single soldier carrying the .50cal he ripped off the starting jeep to help my allies who were having trouble with navigating past the Wirbelwind wreck blocking the road. Which ran dry in a few seconds and could not be reloaded because the mission didn't account for me backtracking 10 meters and subsequently not having any ammo for it anywhere on the map. I still won but the "limited ammo" gimmick seems to be the main factor holding the game back, along with the stealth mission I still haven't beaten yet. There's a clump of 8 or so enemies all in the same spot that I can't remove no matter what. Toss a grenade from any angle, one spots me walking or notices the grenade. Alarm. Use a throwing knife, spotlight guy sees me before I'm close enough. Alarm. Take out spotlight guy, they notice his death. Alarm. Take them down simultaneously. Alarm from absolutely nowhere.

Jackrabbit: what are you using that requires so much ammo searching? A single soldier's ammo loadout should last him his entire lifetime.

I wish they would have this. there is something similar though. When you have a whole squad selected and your squad leader searches a body, crate, vehicle, whatever, all of the ammo, grenades, health kits, etc. he picks up are distributed amongst the squad depending on who needs it. (so if your rifelemen squad has full ammo except one guy, picking up rifle ammo will give it all to the guy with no ammo)

It can sometimes work with weapons, but it's kinda unpredictable form what I've seen. (so that if you have people in the squad with no weapon your squad leader will give them out)

I don't tihnk it works for helmets and hats at allt hough, you have to do those individually, I think.
