Then don't play it.  :-\

Play something else. Like multiplayer, though if you can't beat the second German mission... multiplayer might be a bit tough. No one is forcing you to complete that mission or play the game though, so no need to get so stressed over something so minor. Heck, I can give you my savegames so you can access any mission you want.

I can't play multiplayer.  It won't let me look for internet games.

Also, sometimes I'll be aiming right at a tank's side and have a green tiny reticule, yet my shots apparently just go right through the vehicle without hitting it.  I never had that problem in Soldiers.  >:(

Hmm, I never really did touch the campaign, i found it too hard, and every single unit in it is scripted, theres no dynamic ai or anything.

Edit: Heres the video i made of our times on men of war, nothing special, just a quick demo of the Commanders of War 2

*cough*

I breezed through the campaign missions... The most difficult mission would be... hmm... the bonus German one where you defend the town. Crap-assed difficult! I ended up with one Panther tank total. It was nutso. I love challenge in my games and I love facing insurmountable odds.

I should try doing the recording. We need higher rez and some sort of commentary to tell what's going on.

For me it would have to be 'The crossing'. Beating an entire German regiment with artillery and flak emplacements with 15 guys? Seriously?

Eeeh... that was a piece of cake. Well, if you did it slowly through sniping and the like. It would be intense if you did it like Rambo though, hahaha!

I stole the giant flak cannon on the hill and dragged it to the final defense spot. It was hilarious.

Well it's only the German level that this tower defense stuff in really annoying me.  It's the fact that I had a whole neat defense set up and then it just forces me to abandon it and all my units to move on to a new less defensible area. Without enough time to even move my weapons into position.  And they just send an endless supply of like tanks at you.  In that Moscow is Behind Us level I actually had time to set up, and they provided they didn't just send endless streams of three similar vehicles at you.  There was actually room for creativity, like, I repaired the enemy armored car they send with the recon unit, and when the Flak 18 appeared I drove out there since they didn't have any tanks, and swiped it.

In the second part of that second German level it's just, defend right flank from wave of crusaders and matildas.  Defend left flack from wave of crusaders and matildas.  Defend middle from wave of crusaders and matildas.  All without any type to set up your defenses.

I have found that if you ignore any of the objectives, while madly retreating all your non-front line personnel to a more defensible position in the back, there's really no-more point to the game than 'Survive'. And you can accomplish this easily with enough creativity.

Hide some guys in the bushes with AT rifles, and order them to fire when the enemy tanks are showing their backsides.

When you get mines, Always, ALWAYS use them in excess. No matter what. A couple of well-placed mines can stop an enemy column.

Remember that this game is freakishly hard, and relies solely on tactics and cheap maneuvers. In exactly 1 mission do you properly do a frontal assault. In all the others, the game gives you a couple of units and tells you to defend against a unholy mass of german/russian/UK forces. It's just the kind of game this game is.

Like I said, think before you do anything. It's mostly trial and error.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and do that shit FAST. This game doesn't give you any time between setting up defenses and defending.
EDIT2: My little brother want to know when the server will be up.

Really? He's only played a couple of missions, and only halfheartedly before. I suppose I'm going to have to get him into a game with me now.  :)

Now to figure out how to play on 2 computers with only 1 disk... hm....

Doesn't steam not have an exchange rate?  I remember reading somewhere that something that cost 10 dollars on steam cost ten pounds, and of course lots of brits were pissed about it.

Anyway, I finally figured out why my dumbass units weren't shooting the enemy tanks.  The idiots had all reloaded HE to shoot at the evacuated crews so when the next wave of tanks came they couldn't harm them.  I just dumped all my HE ammo and got through relatively easily.  I really really don't like that mission though.  It just got monotonous.

Is there a way I can direct connect to a server without having to go through the Gamespy browser?  It's still broken.

You need a Gamespy ID to play online, which you get along with the game. There's a code for it somewhere, lemme dig it up...
