Do you have a Dwarf with the Cheese Making job active? Do you have a Farmer's Workshop built to make the job active?

I remember having this same problem a while back and fiddling with the kitchen screen. I.. THINK turning off the permission for cooking milk products in the kitchen screen solved it. Either that or all my milk was forbidden for whatever reason, and I reclaimed it in the stocks screen. The game isn't exactly in front of me right now, so I can't verify.

That's the problem. Designate it for cooking otherwise they won't make cheese out of it. Daft, I know, but that's how it works.

There are three things I know about dwarves:
1. They've got beards. Even the women.
2. They're short. Especially the women.
3. They're Scottish.

No, I think he means that the milk doesn't get designated as a to-be-used object although he told them to make cheese.
Or does milk works like meltable objects considering the "Melt" designation?

He was responding to Bob Kelso, who said "I.. THINK turning off the permission for cooking milk products in the kitchen screen solved it.", which is in fact the complete opposite of what is meant to be the case. In order for cheese to be made, the milk MUST have cooking permission turned on (and you've got to be careful that it's not used by your kitchens first)
