Oh, right. The E-virus. Developed secretly by the Tower-capella organization in a hidden underground fortress. Transmitted through bites, scratches, and generally anything done by the elves. It makes the victim transform into a mindless tree-hugging pointy-eared cannibalistic monstrosity.

Hey, I never said it would transform the victim into an elf. A mindless tree-hugging pointy-eared cannibalistic dwarf is just as valid.
