I'm disturbed by how often one of my first couple artifacts in any given fort is a coffin/sarcophagus.  It's like they know what's coming...

Pitchblende, actually.

I can also make depleted uranium bolts. Masterwork depleted uranium bolts now, I guess.


Yeah, depleted uranium via the smelter isn't very realistic, but compared to the water molecule stretcher I'm building, it seems almost sane.

If you're gonna have depleted uranium bolts, you need to build an A-10 shaped gatehouse to shoot them from.

I'm going to love the next version. If I can add contact poison to any material, I CAN give my dwarves cancer from prolonged use of this shit.

Well radiation does not burn ... high energy particles do not often hit your heat/pain receptors. Effects are listed here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radiation_poisoning#Table_of_exposure_levels_and_symptoms

And of course it can easily demage your DNA in exposed cells and therefore cause tumors and mutations.

Anyway - that artifact is AWESOME. Envy is making me cry. You are incredibly lucky to get something like this as your first artifact. All my first artifacts are rings, and picolos, etc...
