Yeah cats and liquids can be....oddly buggy.
I had a kitten merrily swimming about in magma for just about a year. Then it grew up into a cat and immediately burned to death...

Also the sheer amount of effort we seem to be putting into finding ways to kill pets is a little disturbing...

alot of animals if not all have natural swimming abilitys so they wont drown until the become to tired or such. you need to cap the water to get them to drown.
