I just realized why the my school computers aren't running df faster than my laptop. DF does take advantage of parallel processing. QQ
My school has a computer lab where you can send processes to each computer in the lab. I feel sad that I can't use it to run df at 10000fps

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

I live in Florida. Deep south, and COMPUTERS ARE THE DEVEL!!!

Not true. I live in Alabama which is somehow more deep south than Florida (Not as bad as some other states /cough, though). My teachers used computers at every chance they can get. (Perhaps they're just lazy?)

Because of Dwarf Fortress I now have a free and easy way to make a word for D&D

Last night I was sitting in my car at a deserted traffic light, thinking "man, I could go even though it's red - no-one else is even around right now".  Then a car came out of nowhere and zoomed across in front of me: if I had gone I'd have been totaled.  I immediately thought "boy, that would have been Fun".

So yeah, Dwarf Fortress has changed my interpretation of the word "Fun".

When seeing the two towers movies, at the battle of helm, as they kept count, I fully expected Gimly to pull a lever and announce "5194".

Dwarven ninjas would be awesome.

Might and magic begs to differ.

Pretty much the only reason I'd want to be shorter is because I'm too tall to be a proper dwarf.

I'm even taller than Carrot!  :'(

Because of DF...

While choosing parts to build my new computer, I chose my CPU based on the speed of the individual cores, not the over-all processing power.

...I can't visit the Dwemer (Dwarven) ruins in TES III: Morrowind anymore without them looking like a 3-D representation of a Dwarf Fortress.
I mean, look!
