I think the re-offending rates of jailed criminals would be much less if they just engraved the walls and floors of their cells, and maybe some well-crafted chains
Like others I have been looking into geology a lot more
And have also been sniggering a bit at friends playing minecraft with its simplicity and subtly dropping hints that they should check out dwarf fortress
Have virtually stopped playing world of warcraft since I have to finish digging my way to chaos temple/flooding lava sea/building four 20 z-floor high towers to use up rock

...someone in WoW trade chat made a reference to fishing in volcanoes.  I had to say 'fishing in volcanoes?  What do you think this is, Dwarf fortress?'

I used Dwarf fortressish style in my english essay. I wrote about getting happy and negative thoughts, strange moods also.

i look at people and figure out ways to kill them with a massive machine. water/magma/atomsmashing. but that may just be me. plus i asked why it was wrong to eat kittens. that didn't go down well.

...Made this years Mothers' Day card in DF. Here favorite color is green, so I genned worlds until I found a desert with a volcano. Then I used its smelting power and the sand to create a giant, 300 foot green-glass "Happy Mother's Day!"

When I see a Ballista I question why the bolts don't take up three meters in length.
I wonder why people don't just build Dwarven Generators for power.
I chain my dog in front of the house to ward off Kobolds.
