Dyeing order
« on: February 09, 2009, 02:47:50 pm »

Is there any difference between dyeing thread and then weaving it into cloth, or weaving first and then dyeing it?

I believe that ultimately the only difference is one of them takes advantage of a multiplier that the other doesn't, so the only difference would be in value.

You sure about that? The dye job gets its own multiplier, as does cloth. Both multipliers are persistent all the way through making something out of the cloth. So I'm not sure how it makes a difference if you do it one way round or another.

I think it's just a convenience thing, really.

Yeah, as far as I can tell after having tested this a while ago, the order makes no difference to the value of the final dyed cloth. As the workshop orders let you only weave dyed thread and only use dyed cloth, it's really a matter of preference as to when you dye it.
