So about five guys tried to kill these two. Eventually I killed both of them. Apparently I have the best accuracy in this squad and everyone else is simply terrible.


These guys get to chill in the sub(? I dunno, it flew here.) because as it turns out, their weapons are underwater only. Oh, and one of them is unarmed because we didn't bring enough harpoons. Poor Okenido is armed with only a taser.

Dear God that was like a bad acid trip. My com had a cut wire, I only discovered it when the radio chatter from everybody else stopped.


"Guys! Guys I'm bleeding! FUCK, it hurts, I'm bleedighghfhgdhghfgrack," I heard Semi yell.


"No, guys, I don't think these are chryssalids," Horatio radioed in, "They're more of a gray-green than a black-and-purple."
Commander Cool sounded in, "Shit, did Semi just die? I swear, if Semi just died, you fuckers are going to get such a--"
"This side's all clear!" Marko said, "There were only two warehouses here."
"Top floor is clear. How's the south side?" Horatio asked.
I suddenly realized I was in the south. "Nothing yet. God damn there's a lot of smoke here, some equipment must have caught on fire."

"Shit! We got another alien over here, in the last warehouse. I missed every shot," Marko called frantically. "I need some backup here!"
"I'm coming, close the fucking door," Sparky radioed. "That alien's just gonna walk outside and shoot you in the back."

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
"What the fuck is so funny, Jacques?"

"Good, then. It saved us the trouble. There are still some warehouses in the center, everyone spread out to those."

After the mission, Sparky was reading the mission reports. "What the fuck? This says two casualties. Who else died?"
"That's impossible. There's nine of us here. They must have counted Marko as a kill," Commander said from his bunk.
Sparky shook his head. "Only Command would make a dumbass mistake like that."

Just then the siren rang again, and the mechanical voice announced, "Triton-1 preparing to launch. Please board."
The scientist stepped in front of the door. "Hold on, it's just a wreckage recovery. First you need to tell me what you want us to research."

I just realized what a ridiculous concept medkits are in this game.

Most missions take place underwater right?  Sometimes way out on ocean floors and such.  To be injured implies that your diving suit was breached enough for a projectile to reach your body.  Or more importantly, allows the hundreds of pounds of water pressure to render any such gunfire meaningless compared to the squishy pile you're about to become.

Think of it like this: Your suit is laser/gun/projectile/everything proof. But you're not. So, it allows high-speed projectiles, heat, cold, to temporarily transfer momentum, force, heat, whatever straight to the body.

No wait, none of this adds up at all.

Alien weaponry can teleport through your armour? Or maybe your armour is organic?

Well.. considering that the suits aren't the bulbous and extremely cumbersome suits used today for the deep-sea manned exploration, they must be some sort of pre-pressure adjusted suit, similar to that of the Abyss movie. (The one where the dude breathes an oxygen-rich liquid)
That would help explain, both the lack of ginormous suit, and the ability to survive a wound, albeit for only a marginally longer period, since the oxy-water would now be leaking out of the system quickly.
