40d Nemesis Load unit Failed
« on: February 08, 2009, 03:31:55 am »

I've got a save that keeps giving me a "Nemesis unit failed to load", it happens about 40-50 seconds in all the time

Is it worth submitting the save and is there a way to fix it myself?

Nemesis Unit Load Failure: Inflate -3

Your game is unrecoverable.

Nemesis errors mean corrupt save files.  There's nothing you can do unless you have a backup.

Did you mess with the savegame folders? Did you copy a new version of DF over an old version? I thought that bug had been mostly fixed.

I think this one can happen if you ctrl-alt-del or suffer a power failure, and then try to play from the same game.  You have to go back to a backup when that happens, because the game-in-progress will be corrupted if you don't save it.

Used to.  It now copies everything to a "current game" folder and modifies those files.
