Oh, and I forgot the best MMO out there:
http://www.progressquest.com/

Umm... I guess I'm playing ProgressQuest.

I mean, I created an account and made a character, but...

...

Is this some sort of satire that I don't understand? I can't interact with the game at all, it's just a screen with my 'stats' and a bunch of progress bars filling by themselves. The game is playing itself without my interaction, is it supposed to be like this? or will I actually get to do things and talk to people and stuff?

That is the game. That is basically every Korean MMO. It is progress. It is your quest.

 You are doing well.

Buck up friendo, we're all on the level here.
I would bet money Andrew has edited things retroactively, except I can't prove anything because it was edited retroactively.

Progress quest is basically a Parody/Satire or RPGs and MMORPGs.

However it kinda goes too far that the Satire/Parody is lost.

Wow, what a disappointment. I visited the PQ forums just to see what they're like, and apparently not only does it have a roster of moderators and frequent posters, but most are openly hostile to newer "players".

I've already deleted it, that was a depressing experience.

A wise man once said, "if you ever like something, don't visit the forums for it."

Are you hinting at something Umiman?

Pfft, I liked DF, and look at how much I liked the forums!

So let me fix that for you.

A wise man once said, "if you ever hate something, don't visit the forums for it."

That's better.

Another wise man once said, "DUDE! LET'S JUMP OUT OF PLANES AT 30,000FT!!!!"

Anyway, the way to interpret the first one was that visiting the forums for the game is to willingly expose yourself to countless mini spoilers. By ruining hundreds of small surprises created in the game, you speed up the time till you dislike it and become one of the jaded folk.

The guy who said it was some blogger called Lore... something. Some Swedish guy.

Well it really depends on how elitist the community is.
But what umiman said holds true in must circumstances.

I personally love Progress Quest because it removes all that I hate about MMOs. The gameplay, the plot raping, the constant hours of clicking, focus on graphics, PVP, and human interaction.

Well it's pretty much only something that can entertain you for a few minutes while waiting for a download to finish...

Not like it's any different though...

Hmm, if we're citing "best-of-genre" games, I suppose someone needs to put in a good word for SS, which has the cleanest, most intuitive UI I've ever seen in a roguelike. Still, I think the latest version seriously compromised its artistic vision with the inclusion of an e'X'plore mode...

I theorize that the enjoyability of a game's forum is to some degree linked to the amount of things there are to discuss about the game.
