That thread is full of class and win. Which one it has more of is questionable.

Although they might need tweaking with the elephant, as it hanging off the edge in such a manner looks a bit distracting. I would suggest putting a flood of water behind them or something, or them tunneling into a river.

I would bet money Andrew has edited things retroactively, except I can't prove anything because it was edited retroactively.

Were I the sort of person who pays $10 to post in a forum, I'd pass that on to the artist responsible for it.

Unfortunately, not a goon, 'cuz I agree and want to tell them   :(

Indeed. I'm sure we have some goons here who would point out all the awesomeness there. Heck, I might want to make my own classy art for DF.

Also, epicness starts on page 6.

This is part 1 of 2, and there are a LOT of good entries.   I'd highly suggest if you like that Dwarf Fortress one, to check this out.  Some of them are absolutely wonderful.

Hah, that's a good bit of quick 'shoppery, there.

Funny you should choose The Great Wave off Kanagawa, too. The painting itself is actually fractal in design, just like darn near everything in DF.

I still like the E better. It's got those sinister eyes(ok, eye) and is obviously in [SNEAK] mode.

Quick question; you said "Near"?
Also; that is from the painting with the mountain in the background? The "Great Wave off Kanagawa", huh.

figure of speech, equivalent to saying "almost"

And yes, that's the anglicized translation of the title of that print; depicting a large wave with Mount Fuji in the background. Wikipedia claims a literal translation would read "Off Kanagawa, the back (or underside) of a wave."

It wasn't until fairly recently that someone discovered that Hokusai's water was fractal in nature. If you notice, branching off from the main body of the wave are several smaller wavelike protrustions, and their edges are then again littered with tiny wave-shaped frills, making the entire structure repetitively self-similar and therefore fractal-like.

Some of those aren't too good, but others are incredible, and make me long for a better world, where game boxes really do look like this.
