Sounds cool, but not sure if it would work.

Also, it's odd to call it a Vampire squid if it doesn't suck blood. It's just black and spooky.

Hmm..

Why not just adapt one of the sundry fantastical gribblies already existing in various places to DF.

Now I have said that I need to find the material I'm talking about.

Yeah, besides the black "cloak" membrane, ivory-white beak, red eyes, scary appearance and a life spent in darkness, they're not like vampires at all!  ;)

Yeah, besides the black "cloak" membrane, ivory-white beak, red eyes, scary appearance and a life spent in darkness, they're not like vampires at all!  ;)

Not to mention the hypnotic light displays they use to entrance prey while they move in for a killing blow.
