A strange fortress, with arbitrary constrains on where I can dig and how I can build, but I think it is one of my most organic and favorite fortress so far.

It is a challenging, almost open air fort where that can get a bit cramped at times.

On a related note, do dwarves become cave-adapted by spending too much time on "Dark" tiles or do they have to be "Subterranean"?

New Inner Sanctum for Flarechannel, protected a bit better than the rest of the fortress and contains the temple to the gods, which is still heavily in the works.

Quantum, what shape is the main gate meant to become? I think it's meant to be a giant helmet, but my minds eye sees it more like a strange x shape.

I didn't design it to really look anything but menacing. I do now see the semblance with a strange helmet though, which is kinda cool.

not exactly, the flooded entrance was an attempt at a boatmurdered-style "burn the world" to clean up the gobbo crap. now that i think about it, i must have lost too many soldiers during the last siege/ambush... or soldiers with too many friends...
