It's gotten bigger since then... I have added a multi-levled tower that goes strait to the bottom of the bottomless pit (Is that even possible?) or 2 or so levels above it, and my dwarves are all currently living in it. I'm hoping to make the tower go up out of the ground to the top Z level.

Shotrake as it currently stands.  The location itself is pretty tame (I think I've seen some mountain goats running around), and it doesn't have anything exciting that's hidden from view (magma, chasms or HFS).  But, I saw the location and decided that it was just too neat to pass up!

Took me a minute to realize what was going on there.  I was suitably impressed once I viewed the level above and realized that red sand wouldn't look like that from a level up.  I've always wanted to flood the world with magma, but the closest I ever got was a fairly tame magma-moat.

Since DFMA won't let me upload FDF files cause of size limits (They always come out 700KB) thanks to me using a weird screen rez (1000x400) I'l post pictures of Scrapefences.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

EDIT: Copied the fort into a vanilla df folder and uploaded. No graphics pack though.

I've resized the screenshots, so they're a bit blurry, but I hope they are clear enough :)

On the left side you can see my current standard entrance of my fortresses which consists of a row of retracting bridges. On the level below, there is a big atom smasher. During the last years, I had 3 sieges or ambushes per year, so it is used regularly.
At the end of the bridges, there are 2 rows of cage traps for uninvited guests.
Then some junk (bolts, food, booze, etc.)
On the right side is the central staircase with a bunch of waterfalls. Took a few years to construct (96 pumps and 4 aqueducts). I'm starting to hate waterfalls...

On the left side is the military section with storage areas for weapons and armor, a few archery ranges and a barrack.
The junk on the top are the artifacts I had no use for, and on the right side are the quarters.

The next project will be a magmafall in the center of the staircase.

Alas, another large image. And thanks to Photobucket, it is much smaller than it should be. Oh well.

First floor of the castle challenge. A work in progress, the moat and inner ponds are not complete. I still have housing to work out, which will be next and thus why all the beds are deconstructed.

 What if I did?

The first one was a succession game, so I don't think it counts.

I haven't did enough here to consider uploading a map of it, but as you can see, I have great plans for it.

No water, no underground features aside from HFS, but plenty of space to build the odd tower here and there.
