I propose a three notation system: BT, T and AT
Before Today
Today
After Today

We don't even need no stinkin' numbers.

I'm torn between "That's stupid" and "That's f***ing HILARIOUS!"...

OT: While i'm slightly opposed to the Christian slant to the terms, i agree that it'd involve way too much effort to change to something else.

I suggest a date scale totally unrelated to time, the current date could be average temperature over the entire day/earth in degrees kelvin. This would mean I would never have to worry about forgetting birthdays since no-one would know it was their birthday until the day after at the very earliest. (1 day would be defined by a day at GMT)

What a monumental waste of time.

But, then again, now that I think about it, so are most of my forts...............

Or we could stop numbering dates and name them after good vintages of wine...

The difference is an E.

But more seriously, I think people with other religions would rather have BCE

I propose that years stop being numbered altogether, and each year be named after the most awesome person of that year, as chosen at the beginning of the year.

The problem is that once Dwarf Fortress version 1.00 comes out we'll have a few years in a row named Tarn Adams.
