Togling Engravings
« on: January 31, 2009, 06:06:52 pm »

I like to have pillars in my dining  room, so that I can put some style into table placings. The problem is that I engraved it piecemeal (just so that the pillars would have better engravings). I only wanted the pillars to show, all of the floors are too distracting. Unfourtunatly, the current toggle switches everything. I purpose that DF use something like GI's in Red Alert Two. If you try to toggle two diseperate settings, it'll turn them all one way, or the other. I didn't explain it well . . .

Code: [Select]
Now:
*+H    +E+
++U => UD+
+gk    k++

My idea:

*+H    +++    *EH
++U => +++ => UDU
+gk    +++    kgk

Does this make sense?

Um . . . can't you just toggle each tile individually?

Alternately: The Brick Testament. It's a really fun look at what the bible would look like if interpreted literally. With Legos.
Just so I remember

Edit: I see that I misread and I get what you mean now. You are using the designation, but it flips everything in the selection instead of hide all in selection or show all in selection.

Also, <code> tags (with []) are your friend.

It was a very big room. I ended up doing that, it took a LOOOONG time. Like pre-multi-wall mega-project time.

Tip for the future: make sure all the walls in a room are smoothed and engraved before toggling.

I know, it was going to be a temporary dining rom, but the spot for the real one turned out to intersect a cave river. I didn't want to deal with the crocs (zombies!) so I just expanded. I'll also change the first post to actually use code tags.
