40d7 Unconcious shopkeeper fires his crossbow

I found this really odd bug.
I threw some stuff at a shopkeeper while sneaking who fell unconsious in pain. I stopped sneaking and walked up to finish him off and when i had bit him twice he somehow managed to fire his crossbow.

I don't know if this helps, but i was a snakeman with a displayed speed of 3333.
Also i don't know if it reproduces as this is the first time i've seen it.

Are you sure he didn't wake up?  And is that speed the raw file speed value or the in-game speed value?  If it's the raw file value, he probably woke up before you could get to him.

IIRC, unconscious isn't recorded in the combat logs.
Only the falling down from it is.
Since he wouldn't have stood back up while you were biting him, it's quite possible he woke up and shot you.

Regaining consciousness is in fart recorded in the log.  Hence the spam of
"The guard gives into the pain!"
"The guard has regained consciousness!"
"The guard gives into the pain!"
"The guard has regained consciousness!"
