I place my vote onto Alexhans, because he seems most inline with my goals. I.e. not killing anyone until we know who is ninja and who is not.

Edit: My 'who I'd liked to be Daimyo' vote, that is.

Oh yeah, caveat to my lynch-vote: if everybody else votes for nobody, I vote for nobody.

Shades, whilst I see what you are saying, I happen to know I am innocent of these crimes. As such, I stand by my argument, but in addition turn the spotlight of question at you. You advocate the execution of people at random so fiercely I cannot help but wonder if you are a ninja?

I can only state that I'm not I can't prove it any more than you can. But if you believe I am please vote for me, I would prefer that than you not voting. At least it stops those ninja hiding and will force them to either vote or comment rather than hiding in the shadows. We must find out who they are and the only way to do that is with information, if my life is the price of getting that then so then so be it.

The logic for voting is that how people vote, defend themselves and counter vote tells us a lot more than some random night kill will. The night kills are always going to be town not ninja and so our only weapon against them is the lynch. Depriving us of that this first day will leave us with the same information on day two but with one less town to help out. A no-vote is (almost) always bad.
A no-vote can indeed hurt the town, by killing off someone that is on the town's side! Your logic is flawed, because to lynch someone on no evidence is not helpful. Honestly, you're the most suspicious of us all, not because of how you vote, but why. You want us to lynch someone because not lynching them would be supposedly not helpful.

But what if we kill off a townsman? What then? Is that helpful for us? Of course not! And we have a higher chance of killing off a townsman then not! Only a true ninja would try to deceive us like that, getting us to lynch off one of our own while remaining safe.

I, in fact, believe that you, Shades, are more likely a ninja than any of us.

Well, I have to say, I'm rather surprised anyone picked me for ANY position of power. I will flaunt it and lord it over you people just as Aqizzar would if he was Moderator of Various Nonsense. Of that there is no question. However, if you think my dancing makes me a good Daimyo, then so be it! Come my children! Dance to the mix you just can't beat! You can't fight it!

It gets us information we need, a night kill does not give us information. Therefore a no-lynch is bad. With a no-lynch we will be in day two with about the same amount of information as we have in day one and so have the same problem. Even peoples reactions to my fairly aggressive comments is better than nothing though. I'm glad your voting and I'm happy to die for the town if it might help us find even one ninja the next day.

I am changing my vote to Shades. Either you're a ninja causing trouble, or an ordinary civilian with no role causing trouble. Either way, problem solved.

Interesting how following the only course of action that will actually help us locate and destroy the ninja is 'causing trouble', I do wonder where your loyalties lie

Does anyone know when day 1 ends? I want to know how long I have before I should claim or end up getting myself lynched :)

How does killing a random person get us information? I'm fairly sure that we can't know their roles if they are dead.

Because it's only a random vote for us townies, the ninja will know who each other are so will have different voting patterns. So by seeing how people react and vote you get more information than a no-vote will, also people under pressure talk more so you learn more from them. If everyone no-votes then we get no information.

We should get told who people are when they die I think. I was assuming a card flip style game, if this is wrong then I may be way off base.

it is not a card-flip based game. You will discover who is who at the end of the game.
