[40d6] Fluid Pressure Is Not Diagonal
« on: January 30, 2009, 12:51:25 pm »

Subtle but biggie; I dug some 1-tile diagonal magma shafts and tried to pump magma through them, but they filled very, very slowly. Most telling of this problem was that though I had 4 pumps trying to pressurize the closed tunnel, I still had 6es floating around.

I then used some channeling to turn the diagonal tunnels into sawtooth tunnels and reactivated the pumps.

It looked like a casino owner's nightmare!

This could be used to players advantage, as it strips all pressure from a fluid, so one could have an inlet into an underground pool coming from a water source above and have it enter the pool from a diagonal entrance, without risking overflow. Still, I suspect this is an oversight.

Perhaps it is because fluid pressure is not transferred diagonally.
