Actually, IIRC according to my dad, apaprently it has to do with the fact that if you have only one life sentance, you can get all the goodies like parole or whatever. If you get two to three consecutive life snetances, you're not allowed parole etc etc.

I'm just saying that it's impossible to arrest a corpse. Redundant too. It'll actually be illegal to try and arrest a corpse because you're tampering with the evidence.
