It's a page designed to look like a 404 error.  Geek humor taken to a new level.

Not sure if that level is up or down.

No, it's honesty just a crappy web browser. Listen to the perspective of this computer guy.

That's because Internet Explorer is crap.

Or, in case you're too confused/angry to check, it's just because the page was intentionally designed to look like a 404 error, which HAS to look different depending on browser.

Or, it's just a real 404, and the same rules apply.

I'm betting it's a real 404. It's a nerd joke.

Did you see the date that was published? Tuesday, June 15th, 2004. He is talking about Internet Explorer 6, not 7 or 8.

While it still has a long way to go on standards, IE 8 on Vista with DEP and protected mode is easily as secure as Firefox.

I think it's a vastly amusing thought that elephants are so afraid of heights that when Dwarves invented the Z-axis, they couldn't bear to face dwarves in combat anymore.

I seriously doubt it.

How will it fare against Firefox with plugins such as Scriptblocker, flashblocker and Adblock plus?

Security-wise, most likely at least as good. Comfort-wise? I never used Firefox, but I suspect it would win. I personally prefer Opera, partly because I don't like switching, partly because I like the speed dial. :)

I don't get the browser wars thing. Although a firefox icon seems to be on my desktop, I've been using it when I want tabs.

Weirdly appropriate to the title!
