At least thats what i think it's called. The place that has a plain, with a river, a rather straight mountain line, then a bit in is an underground river, then a cavern, then a magma flow. Ive only been playing DF for about a week or 2 now so humor me a bit. Is this kind of map still in the game? Or was that just the earlier versions. I assume it is the ladder, and if that is the case can someone tell me the version to DL to try that map?

It was the map the boatmurdered took place on basically. Cus i tried DF about a month ago and promptly gave up cus of the insane learning curve. But after reading through boatmurdered i gave it another try with the help of the wiki, and am now thoroughly immersed in the game. It has entirely fucked up my sleeping schedule, and is now killing ALL of my spare time.

Everything you're looking for is in the old 2D version.  Um...version 0.23.130.23a was the last version that was before the migration to 3D, the new world gen parameters, and the ability to embark "just about anywhere."
