Lol, if you all push poor Toady, you'd get a buggy as hell game that will crash on ya. Thankfully we all know he'll only release it only when he's done fixing what he has to do. I'm better off waiting anyways.
Anyways, looking back, we are now on Day 5 of The Underground (at least on the dev blog) and since Toady has made mention that this will take a bit longer I did some rethinking about when it'll likely be out.
As he stated in the blog, the remaining things he plans to put into the underground features for this release were:
Testing new population and life
Fixing underground animal peoples' civilizations
Fixing map quibbles
Decide what to do with rope ladders and such
fix remaining things displayed on the spoiler list
As far as I know, since that announcement, he's been fiddling with popuation and certain map features, but when we take to consideration we got 40 new underground critters(with an unknown # of new animal people)....this could take some time.
This could take 1-2 days on each case and very likely 3 in one or two of them. After all, we want our animal people to give us some form of challenge...right?
Since the announcement was made on the 18th my date of anticipation of the Underground's completion is likely now set for as early as December 24th, but I can see it last all the way to January 2nd depending on how complicated he's going to make it. Afterall, he's working on map features, one of the core features when it comes to displaying graphics in the game as well as what we see.
But yeah after the underground, that's when the final phase begins, the long bug testing session. Which I'm still saying should last from a 3 weeks to a month. Leading me to anticipate a late January to Early Febuary release.
On a final note, hearing SoF diving into rivers sounds kind of funny. I would think they fizzle out, that must be one hell of a fire to not be extinguished.
