Ha! yes!
and then didn't it promptly convince them it was their god(dess?) of deformity?

Toady typically doesn't do things by half measures.  As evidenced by turning "make hauling work better" into "implement mine carts with physics".
There are many issues with this statement.

It was the other one, the cycloptic bird demon with a trunk, not the muck frog demon.

Also, goblins are all athiests, they don't believe in gods. I think thats how it works anyway.

That one happened on the previous entry on how a giant, demonic humanoid thrush convinced a group of humans that it was a manifestation of Tob. The one Quake mentioned was the follwing entry about a goblin general who got mauled by a legendary frog shaped blob of vomit demon.

And actualy, goblins do have gods and pantheons of their own, just check legends. Its just their chain of command works differently, ranks are achieved through intimidation (and sometimes dueling, as seen in toady's entries) rather then noble blood.

I know they worship the demon that takes over the civ from the beginning, but I was talking about a normal pantheon.

I very much like the way you think!
It has, however, sent my brain off into the most horrifyingly awesome tangent.
Question: would the [MOUNT] gobbos be able to also ride mounts? They are, after all, themselves Inteligent Warriors of their Entity.
Imagine it! The Stacking Goblin Army, all piled atop one another. A whole squad in one hex, each atop the lower ranked goblin, the squad commander at the top. Or the Sieges and major Battles led by their Master - Yertle the Turtle Demon - riding atop the entire stack, demanding dread dominion over all he surveys.
Disgaea?

...I just thought of something. Why didn't the walking frog of vomit, normally a liquid (except for a few chunks) substance, evaporate in the desert sun?

It's a CRUSTY walking blob of vomit.

Man, this release is getting so close. So very very close...

And here I was thinking my sentence was gross.

So very close, and yet so very far...

So very close, and yet so very far...

Look at it this way.  Even if it doesn't arrive until mid-February, we're already over 80% of the way there, at least chronologically.

Mid February?  C'mon, where's the optimism?  He's got some squad elements left, and those are cranking out fast, then it's just putting the game back together and making sure stuff works.  Simple.

Discounting holidays, there's about 40 days left in the year.  I'm still optimistic.

I'm remaining personally optimistic, especially with the encouraging progress on Positions/Squads.  Mostly I just want to avoid sowing the seeds of disappointment for others.

As I calculated some pages ago, there's only 29 items remaining on the list, 4 of them being blue (well, more exactly 6, but the 2 I left are more white than blue).

There's about 40 days to christmas, and maybe 45 days to the end of the year.

If toady want to release by Xmas, he'll have to implement around 5 items by week. And some items seems pretty easy to add/fix (the annoying cat bug, if it refer to the [grasp] thing, we'll take some second to be greened out) but some other being more tough (the testing parts).

if he really wants a quick release he could skip the testing and leave that to us -with all the potential brokenness and hilarity that may bring.

You know, in looking at a world I'm generating (using the ultrafinder, tried to run that overnight but damn thing got hung up grrr), I have a thought. Probably going to spoiler this although the new titans/beasts are kind of common knowledge by now.

I was going to do the responses today, but it took an hour to read the last 300 posts and set up the file, and it is bed time, so it'll have to wait a bit.  Here is the file, he he he:
