from the latest devnotes..... so after fighting and losing 3 times, he starts worshipping his enemy.... then carries on to fight another four times? that's some dedication to a goal right there
Perhaps the "worship" was more of an obsession, causing him to ceaselessly follow the beast and try to rid the world of it.

How do NPC's escape after being defeated?
That never happens while playing.

I wonder if we'll be able to worship anything we want later in Adventurer Mode. I'd worship a soapmaker anyway :P

I loaded up my save in the new version, spent a minute trying to find my archery range before figuring it was the room with Xs down both sides: bins of ammo and archery targets.
Urist McCrossbower cancells practice crossbowery: Unsure of which end of the room to shoot at.

I was thinking that myself... some sort of reverse stockholm syndrome perhaps.

Instead of waiting for them to finish their drinking session, you walk in and crush a goblet while berating their disgusting behaviour and general incompetence.

Everyone, if said carpenter was Urist Mclumberjack the Horror of Floras, who cut down 345 trees, 321 elves, 156 goblins, 6 crocodiles, 5 unicorns and 1 fluffy wabler alone, with only his rope reed clothing and his trusty <steel battle axe>.

Yeah, it'd be cool to have options like this for people who don't mind leaving world gen running all night.  There are a lot of ambiguities though, like what terrain the fight should take place in, whether thirst/hunger/drowsiness should play a role, how escapes work, etc.

Looking at the dev list, it looks like the creature raws have been completed from the future.

Does that mean Toady can take tommorrow off?



Does the new world-gen battle system apply to mortal duels as well?
Just out of interest, can we get a snippet of how much different the combat text is now?
