no. celldeath is apoptosis (PCD), generally.
:P
necrosis is dying off of a tissue, usually while still attached to the living organism.
Causes range from freezing, through poison, to infection.

Ah, but Apoptsis is the natural cell death, its beneficial. its the flaking off of skin cells and the like, whereas Necrosis is the death of cells prematurely E.G when they are still needed.

But you are still correct Areyar.

Rather than having them directly force you to mine adamantine, I would suggest that they give you strange moods that require adamantine. "Dig out the adamantine or Urist here goes insane and dies" is suitably vicious.

(It occurs to me that you can probably get "Lovecraft" as the random name of your fortress. That's when you know you're screwed.)

Apoptosis is the process of controlled cell death, usually in response to extensive DNA damage or the actions of T-killer cells (the cells turn themselves into a bag of enzymes which are taken up by macrophages (one subtype of white blood cell)).  Necrosis is the process of uncontrolled cell death as a result of trauma (and the reasons listed by Areyar) which causes the cells to burst, releasing all of the contents into the surrounding environment and triggering nearby cells to die, by necrosis if the enzyme concentration is high enough, otherwise by apoptosis.  (Yes, I'm a biologist by training, this is partly what I did my Master's in. :P)

Months.  As he just mentioned in the dev log, the underground alone will take the rest of April.

I wonder if "the underground" would include both the "map features" and "sites" sections from the list.  I could see the rest of it getting wrapped up by the end of May.
