I don't know that it's magma-fueled, but given the discussion of dwarven wheelchairs, the first thing I can think of is Yagrum Bagarn (Minor Morrowind- and possibly appetite-related spoilers) and his steam-powered spider-chair.  Google even provided me with this crudely rendered sketch.  It might not be suitable for Dwarf Fortress, but one must admire the smooth stabbing action those legs would provide.

There was also the steam-powered wheelchair-thing in Wild Wild West. It even got legs later.

I'd like to see the Yagrum Bagarn inside. Hehehe... Maybe we can make Dwarf dreadnoughts or dragoons.

Morrowind is great and all, but DF dwarves aren't dwemer and ain't got steam or electrics, and I don't think we should sully up this thread with yet another "dwarves need steam / DF won't have steam" discussion".

I guess I should have been clearer when I mentioned Yagrum Bagarn.  I certainly don't think that he fits with Dwarf Fortress, nor that DF should be made to accommodate him.  The discussion of magma-fueled, possibly weaponized, forms of locomotion for crippled/diseased dwarves merely reminded me of him.  It was intended to be as facetious as (I assume) the previous posts were.  And really, who doesn't appreciate any chair - steam-powered or not - that might involve smooth, stabbing action?

Of course. I really liked the sort of spider centurion leg-chair he had.

Magma wouldn't really make sense to power locomotion, unfortunately. It's really hot, sure, but after an extremely short period of powering anything it'll just cool off and form rocks and powder and stuff inside whatever the device is.

Are the splints fastened with thread? Also, are splints a new type of object or improvised wooden logs?

Yeah, I can just see the dwarven wounded going around with logs strapped to their broken arms and legs...

Some wonderful people are seperately refining the graphics display code (via Battlechamps) for integration in to DF.

d1 - d9 were the first nine iterations of this refinement procedure.

And it wouldn't be a wheelchair if it wasn't weaponized.

And magma-fueled.

What? Champion midget taking a ride in a magma-fueled & weaponized wheelchair? Someone must draw this!  :D

For that example I remember hearing somewhere(don't remember the source, take it with a gain of salt) that most animals produce their own vitamin C, making it impossible for them to get scurvy.  So they would be immune to it, while humans, dwarves and such would be able to get it.

Everything except humans, the great apes, fruit bats, and, IIRC, guinea pigs.
