Toady

You need to allow some sort of Tag that allows you to betray Symetry!

Not only is it perfect for Alligned lands (Heck... Chaotic Dwarves who have one eyes larger then the other) but for many of the darker and creepy creatures.

Note: If symetry is a tag... then I take back my statement.

Personally, I'm looking forward to the new descriptions stuff even more than I'm looking forward to the new combat features.  Most of the combat stuff will be just behind the scenes, but the descriptions are something you can directly see and enjoy.

Well with some moding you can do asymetry for many creatures. Asymetric and unusal growth is a bit more tricky cause this can be caused by genes, toxins, deseases and some other issues.

I would like to see Achondroplasia and Fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva as mutations but also alcohol induced dwarfism, goitre caused by a  infection of Thyroiditis and similiar things.

edit:

Also "genes" might be a interresting starting point for some generation spanning "curses" like Lycantrophy and healing / Mutations magics.

You mean lack of alcohol induced dwarfism, don't you?

Hot dang.  Toady wasn't kidding with that thing about the first dwarves being "trainwreck fugly."

Luckily, we have Toady's intelligence to design them better, instead of being forced to wait for evolution to do its work.

I would like to see Achondroplasia

Wait, you want dwarf dwarves?

How about mutations that requires the individual to wear narrow or large sizes instead. Let's at least get some utility out of all the crap we shoot off of gobbos and elves.

That bug's definitely a feature. At least for sinister gods or for when he beefs up the evil-regions.
Just imagine being menaced by a skeletal goat running in circles towards your fortress.

Reminds me on the slope-chickens (Gallus gallus conatus) that are breed here. This are chicken with one leg being shorter on one side so it can stand straight on the slope. Iirc we someone imported them from italy 300 years ago.

Slope chickens go back on a Mutation on the 12 chromosome. Scientists found that very interresting cause this mutated gene affects only oneside of the slopechicken. Crossings between leftside and rightsided slopechickens lead to normal chickens or very short but equal sized leged chickens

Actually, the shorter legs are not natural. Farmers deliberately hinder the development of one leg when the chicken is still young to produce the asymmetry, similar to the practice of foot binding. Gallus gallus conatus is a misidentification, and "slope chickens" are genetically identical to the domestic chicken, G. gallus domesticus.

Thief:"Quiet kitty, Qui-"
Cat:"THIEF! Protect the hoard from the skulking filth!"
The resulting party killed 20 dwarves, crippled 2 more and the remaining 9 managed to get along and have a nice party.

I wonder if Slope Chickens can balance on one foot

Anyhow there are better asymetrical creatures out there to think of... such as I think a Flounder.
