Thought:  Silver could be a poison that only affects were-beasts.

Hopefully the "affected classes of creatures" will be flexible enough that you can make classes as general or specific as you want.  I think Toady mentioned, as a possibility, identifying poison classes by arbitrary strings that you can just stick on creatures and poisons, something like:

[CREATURE:WEREWOLF]
...
[POISON_CLASS:SILVER_AND_STUFF_LIKE_IT]

[INORGANIC:SILVER]
...
[POISON_CLASS:SILVER_AND_STUFF_LIKE_IT]
[POISON_CLASS:LIBERTARIANS]

etc.

Souls could become the currency of gods/demons upon sacrifice/death of worshipper.
I'm picturing a god sending you on a quest to kill its own worshipers because it's broke.  Which leads my mind to the Foodstuffs line of quests from FFTA2: "Too few is no good.  Too many is also no good."

Also, I'd be really interested to know if reliquary-type objects will/can be implemented.  Like the giant who had his soul hidden in an egg at the bottom of a well, or your typical D&D lich.

It would be really really great and appreciated to see a maintenance release before a "stable" one - at least for the modding community. ;)

He's going to release some of the new raws once they're finished.  What do you mean by "maintenance" though?

Will I be able to rip and tear a GCS's venom-dripping fang and stab it with it to paralyze it?
Will it be immune?!

Inhalation and contact poison is begging for a new variety of HFS.

Awesome idea. The question is: This will be possible to mod in?

Perhaps he's implying that we could/might have to proofread the raws, as odd as that'd be. I'm not sure what we could catch other than typos or the occasional "Wait, why does this have two fat layers?"

This is perfect for the Kobolds! I imagine we'll get a lot of new venomous vermin. I think a kobold adventurer armed with a backpack full of Boil Grubs would be a real threat!

Also, a large, hulkish Evil Swamp creature with vomit-inducing blood- that it is not immune to! Call it a Bile Beast and watch as it coats the lowlands in slime!

"pain, swelling, oozing wounds, bruising, blisters, numbness, paralysis, fever, bleeding, coughing/vomiting blood, nausea, vomiting, unconsciousness, necrosis, impaired vision, drowsiness and dizziness"

Armok Scarab: a crimson-shelled, rubylike beetle that is attracted to blood and corpses. It causes coughing/vomiting blood and intense pain when accidentally ingested, and can be fatal unless only very small quantities are consumed; food stored near a battleground can lead to contamination. Temples to armok sometimes offer sacrifices by feeding a live scarab to the victim.

Violet Moth: a dark-colored moth that nests in caves and underground constructions. They nest in soft cloths or silks and, if disturbed, can infect dwarves with numbness, drowsiness, and unconsciousness.

...I'm adding those now.

Don't forget malaria inducing mosquitoes.

I get the feeling that evil zones will not only have the persistent danger of large pointy creatures, but small poisonous vermin.
