Good sweet Lord, I'm so glad I got back into this game in time to get super excited about this, this is like Christmas, my Birthday, Halloween, and the Fourth of July all put together, and then shoved into the arena with a magma pit and forced to fight to the death with battleaxes.

We went wayyy off subject here.

I don't want this to be locked, yo!

Can certain members of a caste have different possible parent combinations?

As of now castes are random, ignoring the parents' caste entirely, so yes.

In regards to the randomization roulette and the lost of cultural/visual identity for the races, i would say each race should have weightings assigned to specific norms and featurs and thus on average while the lake orcs for example would be peacful traders, they might still hold to other orcish traditions and retain the appearance.

Ya mean like when it roll the values for civilization the odds of pulling a value that is a stereotype is significantly higher ? For example 80 percent of Orc civilizations generated are going to turn out green?

Darn. I was thinking of making a caste of superdwaves, that have a 1/100 chance of coming from a normal/normal combination, but have a 100% if coming from a superdorf/normal or superdorf/superdorf.

Yeah, yeah.

Are there tags for certain body parts, like [NOPAIN] for an armor plate, or something that lets them serve as purely protective parts?

Do you mean something like a turtles shell or the armor of the Ankylosaurs and kin? Given that we now have the tissue stuff, I could easily see bony shields or plates be made.

Yeah, the new tissue tags are pretty versatile.  In this case, PAIN_RECEPTORS:0 would do the trick.

Based on dwarf skills rusting over time of non use...

Will my migrant fish dissectors over time revert back to the peasant status that they truly are? If so how long will this take for the average migrant assuming all they are doing is hauling the hundreds of trees I'm chopping to tick off the Elves?

Can you assign your civilian dwarves armor that they'll continue to wear even if they're not "active" in the military?

Yes, there's an option to make them wear uniforms while off duty.
