I did post a toon about a tractor-gnome...posted it because it made me think of the ease by which dwarves demolish walls. As well as the level of aggression. :)

What, pointing out the upcoming Day of Fools gets one of those, but 'hey only 2 pages left till page 1000' doesn't?
For us non-custom page length users it isn't quite that visible but I would have gladly berated the living hell out of every last person doing any of this 0 contribution superstitious timing baloney. I've only kept it to myself as much as I have because of my astronomical willpower.

Q: Will deamons and/or titans have powers related to their respective spheres?

Like the megaman villains: magmaman, scizzorman, leafman, cycloneman etc.

That probably couldn't come before the magic arc stuffs.

The 40d# version is a side branch that has its code provided by Baughn. Toady develops DF2010 separately from that, so he'll have to merge Baughn's code with his once again before he makes the release.

i keep on trying to play 40d, but then, it's not DF2010. damnit. . .
question:

right now, cave fish spawn near the "cave river" tile at the bottom of the river, not in actual subterranean water.
are the new underground lakes going to operate the same way, or if i channel water far away, will cave fish spawn there?
oh, and how come i'v never seen cave lobster?

They are already mentioned in the readme.txt file bundled with 40dX versions.

From the Amusing Coincidence Dept.: I first learned about real-life olms while browsing Wikipedia just days before first encountering them in Dwarf Fortress. Strange little critters. Especially when they're BIG ENOUGH TO KILL HALF YOUR FORT.
