Just wondering, is the RSS Feed linked at the dev_now in working condition? I'd rather be automatically updated about Toady's progress rather than hitting F5 every now and then.
Still appears to be broken unfortunately.

Only the DF Talk one works.

I know it's not exactly top priority but I'd like to see it fixed some time. :)

Okay, since the RSS feed is working with some readers and not others, I ran it through a validator, which made several recommendations for maximizing compatibility.

You could make a non megabeast dragon creature and breed them. I know it's less epic but it's the only way (I think).
Perhaps make some sort of minor dragon? More like a really big, fire breathing lizard than an ENORMOUS fire breathing lizard?

That makes me think of a question: Has the pathing AI for flight been fixed/modified at all?
Perhaps, Wyrms?
What's the question?  Are you asking whether wyrms are in the next version?
I think the intention was to suggest adding wyrms as a small farmable dragon. Poor wyrms, (and drakes and wyverns and pseudodragons) always there to take the shit that dragons won't.

Some sort of "spiked skin" tag might be nice, and not only for sharks and rays--especially when you consider wrestling.

For that matter, lions and other felines have tongues that are like sandpaper. So maybe some kind of "rough" tag that could be applied to any type of flesh?

Can castes affect world-gen level behavior?  Particularly, can you set up a creature, dragons for example, for whom only the males would raid cites, leaving a supply of females to fight for adventurers?  Or, for example, ant men for whom only soldiers appear in raiding parties?

Yes a roughtness tag would be rather nice. It also could have a scale.

Like this:

[rought:1]     - incredible smooth like spidersilk
[rought:20]    - the skin of a dolphin
[rought:100]   - A cats fur
[rought:500]   - a sharks hide
[rought:1000]  - a hedgehogs spikes

thought things like spikes could go under another system.

What a coincidence - In English today, we were discussing keel-hauling.

A tag for tissues or for materials?

Both? Is that possible?

Why the table made it small, no idea.

Anyways, I think a porcupine would be a better example than a hedgehog, or maybe a sea urchin, one of the more spiny species.

It is possible for Toady to change the material/tissue format such that they both have a property representing "roughness."  I can't imagine why you'd want to do that for both, though.

Not sure if this was covered or not yet, but how will underground tunnels between the mountain civs interact with the new underground features?

If there is even a remote posiibility of creating a DRAGON FARM.... Please someone tell me it will be possible? It would be even more epic than mermen and unicorns.

I'm not sure this is exactly what you mean, but it got me thinking... can creatures grow back certain things that aren't body parts per se? Like this dragon pus thing - could you bleed out a dragon a bit, then let it heal and repeat later?

Hopefully this will be one of the great engineering questions of the next version and we'll have 20 pages of discussion on how to extract and collect dragon pus efficiently.

I'm pretty sure you can mod megabeasts to be able to breed. At least thats what I've heard from the modding section, not sure if they can keep the megabeast tag at the same time though.
There are numerous people who have thrown common pet tags on them so they can just get them from traders and such.

Not sure if this has come up or not, but:

As it is, friendly units which are Sneaking (i.e. ambushing) appear the same as any other unit. Is there any chance sneaking units could be given a special status indicator (such as a dark green background, similar to brown for Prone or cyan for Airborne)? It'd make it easier to tell when Hunters are out doing their thing, and it'd be nice for Adventurer mode as well, especially when you reach such a high skill level that it doesn't slow you down anymore.

It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.
