Now that we have a way to handle injuries better I want to see more sources of injuries. Dwarves working the forge should have a 1% chance of shattering their fingers from a bad hammer strike.

I support this idea. Workshop accidents should be rare but exist. It would also provide some practise for the doctors.

Right now DF is something of a zen experience - if a game is awesome but nobody can play it, does it really matter?

de5me7 enters martial trance, infinite anticipation of dwarf fortress.

p.s. i predict 6 years until DF 1.0

I haven't been able to get any vomit this release. Not any I can pick up, at any rate.

DF 1.0 is a myth made by our ancestors. DF is an entity constantly evolving. It will never reach 1.0

I think to play df 1.0.0.0 we will enter a Holodeck to get a damn Screen projected which still shows ascii or at wish a Mayday-tileset made from SVG files.

An interesting note is that there will never actually be a DF 1.0.0.0. There'll be a DF 100.xxx.xxx.xxx, denoting how many secondary goals have been completed in addition to the 100 core ones.

I donno, I don't really look forward to seeing my soon-to-be-legendary Armorsmith getting eviscerated by some clumsy scrub. On the other hand: Blood Transfusions for the Blood God, Skull Fractures for the Skull Throne!

Oh god, what an unfortunate accident that has happened here because of Urist's clumsy insertion techniques.

Now neither of us will be virgins.

Try again, looking at the version number. It goes to 1.(1?)00.###.###a
It's explicitly stated that it's "hundreds digit of cores"

As hard as it is to wait so long for the next release, I am confident that DF will not wind up like DNF (Duke Nukem Forever).  But there is something about those initials....

I keep thinking that he must be so close, but, like Zeno's paradox, he never reaches the end of the dev.
P1: DF is an aeon away from completion.
P2: If we take one second from the remaining time, DF is still an aeon away from completion.
C: Therefore DF will always be an aeon away from completion.

I know, it's not a true syllogism, but it's a reformulation of Zeno's "paradox", so sue me.

(Please don't sue me :'()

Ah. Right you are. Still, no "1.0.0.0".
