Upon completion of the merge, will a line be added to the credits section reading "OpenGL support by [Baughn's real name]"?

They are already mentioned in the readme.txt file bundled with 40dX versions.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I bet one of those is Baughn.

Considering that Baughn mentions Bernard in the d# threads in the OPs, Baughn must be Svein.

I'm confused as to what will be actually missing without the merge. The way it reads to me at the moment is that we will have all new features and no existing ones, which I'm sure is wrong.

Yeah, we're coming to the end of a year-and-a-half long release cycle. If there's any fandom that needs a support group, it's probably DF's.

Some of those guys are STILL holding their breath.

Three things added in d# and would I think would not DF2010 without the merge are: MAcros, zooming, and resizing the window on the fly. It would also lack the optimizations to run faster.

i keep on trying to play 40d, but then, it's not DF2010. damnit. . .
question:

right now, cave fish spawn near the "cave river" tile at the bottom of the river, not in actual subterranean water.
are the new underground lakes going to operate the same way, or if i channel water far away, will cave fish spawn there?
oh, and how come i'v never seen cave lobster?

I can't find any reference to a change in the way vermin spawn, so I'd assume they're staying the same. Toady isn't handling that sort of population tracking in this release, so I imagine if it's going to change, it will be when he tackles vermin\creature populations.

As for the cave lobster, clearly your issue is that you're trying to catch them with fisherdwarves, instead of cave lobster traps. (Cave Lobsters, it appears, have the [VERMIN_NOFISH] tag, so you can't actually catch them by fishing.)

Not to mention true image transparency (i.e. not using magenta for it, which incidentally allows fractional translucence), PNG support, and grid/window autosizing.

It's kind of an important difference; an animal trap is a very different beast from a lobster pot.

Having played Echelon for a long time, I'm now imagining "reverse fishing" - a massive hovering airship with a giant trailing net that drags along the ground, scooping up unwary wildlife and birds. It'd likely be Fun.

He's merging it with this version, which consists primarily of graphical optimizations and interface improvements.
