*points at his Steel Warhammer*
I'm confused. Is that a Superior warhammer, or a Superior point?

"Squirtedgears the Anus Angels of Wrath"

This comment menaces with spikes of warhammers and points.

It is encircled with bands of misunderstanding and silly and studded with nonsense.

On the item is an image of dwaves. The dwarves are confused.

Am I the first one to point out that the first line of the OP is sitting in a pool of vomit  ;D.

BMacZero is beyond ecstatic.  He looked forward to the next release lately.  He played Dwarf Fortress lately.  He has suffered the travesty of art defacement.  He was forced to eat a treasured pet to survive lately.  He has lost a friend to tragedy recently.  He slept in the mud recently.

Which would, presumably, be a cow made out of cows. Which would likely have cheese made out of cows as well, making "cheese from a cow cow" not that distinct from "cow cheese made from cows", except that the former was likely made from scratch at a butcher's shop/hospital, while the latter was probably made by aging milk made out of cows into cheese. This has got me thinking. Is it possible to have a creature collapse into a pile of vermin upon death? Since their handled as objects, it seems like it should work.

I still think that the whole fortress should be flooded with magma the moment you try dividing by zero.
This could be a handy way of teaching preschool children mathematics.

Is it possible to have more than one itemcorpse? I think you could get one vermin out of it, but not a group.

Yeah, multiple itemcorpses are definitely possible.

Perhaps this problem could be solved simply by enabling magma buildings from the start without needing to wait for magma to be discovered? The player can't build them anyway without magma, and what harm does it do to have them on the menu beforehand?

The magma discovery also triggers whether a mood may seek out a magma version of a building instead of a normal one, I believe, so it could cause problems with moods, at the very least.
Seeing as Dwarves don't use fuel for making an artifact during a Strange Mood in 40d it'd make no difference either way. Magma forges are actually more fallible for Strange Moods as it can "unactivate" the forge if the magma drops lower than 4/7 under it without any intervention where as you'd need to forbid the materials the forge is made of to achieve the same effect in a non-magma forge.
Still a better solution would be as suggested on another post & make both types of forge the same building then have it require fuel if it isn't magma powered when a dwarf goes to use it to make something.

I bursted out laughing so hard at this that my dog woke up, came in the room, and looked at me like I'm an idiot.

Then proceeded to brag about how he has 27 kills on his kill list and is super-doggenly tough.
