Am i allowed to appeal here? According to the rules, my combat with  Fishhook should have came out as a tie.

I think i worked it out correctly. He was wielding a sword which has a much greater advantage when attacking.
Yeah, short swords get a two plus bonus for attacks, You got a -2 defense penalty for being side on.

Yeah, I was thinking about the crossbowdwarves too... Still, they're supposed to pepper us with them from the shadows, not use 'em like hammers.

Note to all... Attack a swords dwarf before he can attack you. The two plus bonus really helps them out when attacking but does nothing when they are attacked.

Ahhh. Didn't see that. Then swords qualify as ridiculously over powered. Extra movement per turn (you can't be attacked if you plan correctly) plus an effective 3-7 roll on attack?

You might want to nerf that for the next round.

I abandon my appeal.

And steel myself to huntdown and kill fishhook.
All of them.

EDIT: 3-7 on the attack PLUS definite penalty to the defender?

But a swords dwarf can't block up passages with his defensive capabilities like a spear dwarf can.

He can move foward and attack with his superior movement.

There is no reason for a smart player to ever be on the defensive.

Unfourtunatly, that is a perfectly viable strategy. Looking at it, you have a horrible advantage over Trifes.
I can only move three spaces at a time, while you can move five. Provided that you attack when I get close enough (you don't even have to get the timing right in regards to posting) it becomes a 3-7 against a 0-9. Plus, you have friends and an extra life.

No fear.

Don't forget what happens if a swordsdwarf gets the artifact.  Then the have a +4 when attacking, giving them a roll for 5-9.  However, their movement is reduced to...4, which is what everyone else can move.  So if they want to run away, they're still able to keep ahead of their pursuers.

Then again, if they have the artifact everyone's attacking them, so I suppose it's fair.

The problem is, a swords dwarf should never have to defend. That's the point of incresed mobility. Ehhhh, I'm just going to let this die.

I have to get up in three hours now. I'm just going to do chemistry homework.

I fall asleep in class anyway, no?

I actually work better once I've looped around my energy levels. Altough I'd best turn my fish lights out.

I'm going to stop posting unless we need to discuss something, no reason to clutter up the thread.

Frelock, do you have anything you need me to do, other than clear out opposistion once you've grabed the grate?

I can't carry the thing, Trifes is too slow already.
