I think this is a bug, and I think it hasn't been reported. Apologies if it has...

A squad of six merpeople (mermen and mermaid) corpses appeared on my stocks list. When I located them, they were all along the west edge of the map where the fortress area is adjacent to water. However, the northernmost part of that edge is not underwater, and this is where the corpses were. I think perhaps they were erroneously generated at the edge of the map over land and suffocated.
