It crashed again - changeover of seasons. THis is really weird, vanilla DF never gives me problems usually. Heck, crazy modified DF usually never gives me problems. I don't know what is going on, but by this point I'm going to pack it in. I know it's a crappy move, but I'll just keep holding up everyone otherwise. Are there any people waiting in the wings to take over my turn?

That first run through I had mined out and/or smoothed pretty much the entire obsidion layer, too.

Have you tried turning autosaving off, or resetting any ini settings? :-\ Maybe try saving right before winter and somebody else can try it, to see if it's the save of your installation that's the problem ...

You don't understand, I had a slack day, so I played it through. there was no save until winter.
THen the second time it died at the first season changeover.

How do you get the savefile to work with your game?  I tried copying the file with save information into my data/save folder (and renaming it something the game can understand), but I don't get the option to continue.
