Walls and Floors Question
« on: January 16, 2009, 08:30:14 am »

Hello there; I am interested in roads and/or carpets as a way to build roads/tapestries in my fortress. However, I have some questions:

Is it possible to make blocks dyeable?
Can one make leather/cloth usable for construction?

you can't make cloth usable for construction. You'd have to fake it - smelting the cloth into something else - probably a rock block.

I know leather will be used for wals eventually, or at least decoration, because I keep getting worldgen events telling me my civilization is now mostly  turned into leather adorning the walls of Wickedmurders the EvilGodless of IncestSpawn.

..but not yet.

Toady typically doesn't do things by half measures.  As evidenced by turning "make hauling work better" into "implement mine carts with physics".
There are many issues with this statement.

Yeah, there's not a whole heck of a lot you can do, other than make it into a bar of some sort and color them that way by means of smelting.
