Hey RR, I really like your graphics pack and have been running around in Adv. Mode with it.  A couple oddities to report:
- a couple different Elf unit types, such as Drunks, show up as skeletons -- I think the DEFAULT is messed up?  I don't know if this has anything to do with the fact that there are actually 3 identical graphics defs for elves in graphics_race_elves, instead of just one.
- human leaders/mayors show up as a green guy looking at a scroll, which is a little weird considering they're all warlords and badass fighters.  I guess you have to work with the reported unit type, so you can't use a specific weaponmaster tile, but it could still afford to look more intimidating.

Also, just a note: there doesn't seem to be any way for civilized creatures to show up as zombies/skeletons in the current version.  That might change in the next version (depending on what Toady does with HFS), but the future of zombies/skeletons in general is unclear, due to this dev_next item:

I'll admit I've barely played Adventure Mode, so I haven't seen most of this stuff.

I'll review the Elf files again. There's a distinct possibility something there is not right; I've been using Urist McGraphics to edit the files, so I'm a victim of any bugs I haven't found in it

I'll save overhauling the human leaders to meet their actual nature until after the next release, when there's more flexibility in the positions for each race.

Yeah, that's sensible.  Hopefully there'll be a little more flexibility in the graphics defs with regard to position vs. profession.

I've never been very happy with Sphr's military dwarves, and I finally got around to redoing their colour scheme and tweaking the design, mostly for the royal guard. The old Sphr sprites are on the top and my new ones are on the bottom.

I think yours are definitely an improvement.  The old ones were way too garish.  Although... what are the ones in the second-from-right column?  Are those blowgunners?  That's kind of awesome if so.

Oooh, lovely! I like how you managed to keep uniformity while adding distinct touches amongst the different castes of soldiers. All the while keeping the same "style" as the Sphr set. I'm in favor of this change!

Alright, I feel like an idiot.  I have been trying to install this and so far only the dwarfs and their animals change.

I go into the folders for each, drop them into the same folder with their name, and click "Yes to all" when asked.  So I drop 'data' into the same folder that 'data' is in, 'raw' into the same folder that 'raw' is in, etc.

I do this for 'mod-main' and then 'mod-init-d16' as I don't care about the accents.  I am using the 40d16 version.

As 'mod-init-d16' appears to change everything needed, and I like the "Natural 2" set, I didn't change anything in the init file.

I can't figure out what I am doing wrong.

Can you please copy the contents of your data/init.txt into a spoiler tag so I can take a peek at it?

I'm glad everyone seems to like the change. I'll try to pack up an update soon, even if I'm not done what I planned to finish before then.

Any thoughts on the Quartermaster specifically?

I'm sure this has been asked much before, but I have to go very soon, I wanted to know, how do I install them to 40d? I put them in the graphics folder under raw, then turned gfx on. But it doesn't work. Now what?

I looked at the last post.

Now all I get is a black screen when starting up.

Saw the readme.
