It probably isn't worth it, I seriously doubt that Toady would get enough to cover legal fees.

That being said Three Panel probably ought site their sources, so to speak.  Maybe request that make a donation if they but the shirt or something.

I found it totally by accident and not through Three Panel though, so I don't know how they're advertising it.

Frankly I'd be suprised if Toady actually minded enough to do something like sue. Although it would be nice for there to be bay12games.com written on the back or something.

A smiley face surrounded by C's is going to raise the same questions...

The solution to this "problem" is to set up a Café Press (or similar) store.  Fan-generated shirts get posted to the forums; if a shirt gets enough interest it joins the catalog.  All profits go to Toady to support further game development.  If you could buy a Zelda t-shirt to hasten the arrival of the next Zelda game... or if you could buy a SimCity shirt and know that Maxis would pick up the franchise again once 10,000 shirts sold... wouldn't you?

Also: whoever designed that shirt is almost certainly One Of Us.

There is a strong DF community on the Something Awful forums. (Boatmurdered, anyone?)
While I would expect the majority of them to also be signed up here, that doesn't mean they all are. 8)

Actually there are lot of DF communites on the various forums. So I am not sure that they're one of us.  :)

I think it's pretty shitty that someone did this without prior approval/go ahead from Toady (if that is the case). But if it's tolerated then more power to him. I imagine it's a decent DF shirt. Not something I would wear though.
