Now why would you go, and do that?

BECAUSE DF IS HARD TO PLAY! But easy to get in to.

haha yeah but i signed up cause i saw how awesome the community was turning out to be. genuinely funny and talented people writing and promoting the best game ever.

I signed up because I wanted to make a bug report. 

It really went like this. The old forum had a line right at the top something like, "Some/all content in the forums and Bay12's games may be objectionable to some people.  This is true of everything on the internet, and proper discretion is your repsonsibility."  After I read that I just had to read the forums, but I wasn't really interested in DF yet.

I then spent something like a week reading the forums.  I laughed more in that week than I had for 10 years.  Every topic was filled with so many funny things.

I was interested and excited to give DF a try.  On first launch nothing displayed.  I wasn't very excited anymore, but I kept reading the forums to keep my spirits up.  After 2 days of tweaking around, the people I lived with thought I was bipolar.  Finally, I got display with an FPS of 0.  That was when I joined up.

A little bit more grumbling and laughing, and then I knew the joy of having my dwarves drown from a world flooding construction.

40d8, I believe.  I was playing with a larger screen and just cut of everything below the words, so you can't see the cursor or the object.

I originally signed up over not knowing how to do something. I was one of those noobs who makes a topic entitled "how i build well" in the DF Discussion section.

I'm fairly certain my first post was a question...Donno what exactly.  And my post list doesn't seem to go back far enough to find out.

Oh well, was probably a dumb question anyway.

And back when I started us August '07ers were the newbies durnnabbit!  and we had to irrigate our fields every spring, and had to patrol the inside of the fort as well as the outside for ambushes from river, magma, and chasm critters! We didn't have any of this newfangled "threeDeee" stuff either.  You weren't gunna get yer magma forging operation up by the first year either!  Hell, you were lucky to start FARMING by the first year! And all this..........Zzzzzzzzzzz.....

My first post.. Was stating that I'll be downloading the latest version of that time. I joined just for the heck of it. It seemed like a good place to be.

Odd, because I ne'er get "bloody" attached to any object, for all that they get forbidden for blood covering- you ha'e to examine it to see the "Contains: Blood Covering"...
