40d-- Carverd ramp in inaccesable location.
« on: January 11, 2009, 06:21:51 pm »

This caught me completly by suprise. Somehow my miner managed to dig a ramp out in a place that he had no access to. How this happened was I was mining out ramps to go down one level, but where they happened to be was right on top of hidden magma pipe. And somehow the ramp shifted down one z level.

My tunnel was supposed to end up like this like this---

____  |
      \ |

But this is what happened thanks to a hidden magma pipe.

____|  <- tunnel level
_____  ____  <-hidden magma pipe area
\|        <- Where the ramp ended up

So somehow my dwarf managed to mine out a ramp in the magma pipe room which he would of had no access to except for the ramp he was carving, which somehow managed to get shifted down a z-level on completion. This could lead to some odd uses of hidden features, or ruin a fort if in the wrong spot.

Thanks, I didn't run across that one when I searched, though that does mean it is repeatable, and a very odd bug.
