I personally think that:
xkcd is hilarious.
VG Cats is average with a few gems.
I've never read CAD.
Lastly Penny-Arcade has failed to even amuse me, and I'm surprised that Fishersalwaysdie hasn't slandered it into tiny giblets by now.

Sure, it wasn't THAT funny, but there were some definite gems in the rough. Most of the final fantasy and kingdom hearts ones were good.

Next time I fill out a sarcastic survey, I'm totally a Jenova's Witness.

Anywho, back the Shlock's Mercenaries for me.

I think, after reading a little more of VG Cats, I agree with Okenido; it's not very funny, but there are a few good ones. Usually I find myself more impressed with the opening of the comics than with their punchlines. I liked this one in particular:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I think it's because it's short, so it doesn't have enough time to get unfunny in mid-strip, it has a fairly stupid premise, and it has a funny face at the end. When something is stupid, short, and has funny faces in it, I like it. It seems like it has no delusions about itself. It comes off as not having depth, but also knowing that it does not have depth.

Some comics, on the other hand, are epic. Not VG Cats, though. That thing Creamcorn linked to:

It even has a moral!

I never said I liked VGcats, I find it particularly average. However, I object to an asshole (or group of assholes) stating 'THIS' is good and 'THAT' is horseshit because 'I think so', or as you are doing, 'This is why I think so and I think why I think so makes sense, so you have to agree with me or fuck you'.

Why has noone mentioned Giant in the Playground? In my opinion they are one of the better web-comics out there, especially compared to ones like Cyanide and Happiness.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I demand Electric-wire lizards and outlet-mouthfoot men.

This comic is too much. I'm going to be dreaming of double-faced baby eating bearmen tonight.

And oddly* undetailed penises.

I don't think Spamusement has been mentioned, even though it is more of an old archive than a comic.

Am I the only one that thinks that XKCS is decidedly meh?  Sure, it's funny when you start reading it, but the humour gets old pretty quickly.

There's only three webcomics I can read regularly, and they're OoTS, Dr McNinja and Sonichu.

I like mostly XKCD, GItP, VG Cats, and Looking for Group.

XKCD and GItP are fairly obvious. VG Cats has the occassional strip taht I don't find particularly amusing, but is overall good. And Looking for Group has Richard. Thats enough to make just about any comic awesome right there.

I don't think anybody has mentioned Dinosaur Comics yet. Updates (almost) every weekday, and is filled with all kinds of wackiness. And I think it is the only comic I have ever read where I actually learned about things - like solipsism, and the Cotard Delusion.

Aside from xkcd, I haven't read many strips from these popular ones; the ones I have read, even the ones people rave about, didn't hold a lot of appeal for me; though, unlike some people, I am perfectly happy allowing other people their enjoyment.

The only comic I can remember really getting a kick out of was Concerned.  I've read that thing at least three times now.

For those of you who have read it, remember that point where Frohman throws a chair at the power plug in order to disable the field?  Well, I tried it.

It works.

What's the comic that's made from images taken from old books?

I can't remember what it's called.  It was a really funny one too.

So if everybody's reviewing webcomics...

Personally, I found VG Cats hilarious - I have a morbid sense of humor, so some blood and aborted fetuses can only make the comic better for me. The pairing of a stupid character with a vicious and cruel person also works for me. "The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy", anyone?

Penny Arcade - I think it needs no advertising. It's great.

Ctrl+Alt+Del can be numbingly boring or incredibly funny, depending from the theme. Especially the gaming jokes are great and I can't imagine why the author focuses on Ethan.

Order of the Stick - another comic which doesn't need any advertising. Especially for D&D 3.5 fans.

xkcd - I have reeeeeeally mixed feelings. The comic can be great and is somewhat unconventional, but I tend to dislike its fan base. Too many of them seem to pose as underestimated geniuses, despising the stupid rabble.

Looking for Group - very nice and beautiful comic. One of those which are more entertaining than funny.

MS Paint Adventures - no one has still mentioned it. Very peculiar kind of humor, which I like. The author's imagination stat must be extremely high, even without corn brandy...

Sexy Losers - extremely offensive and definitely not work-safe. I don't have to say I love it?
