Exactly what it says on the tin.

So, what do you think about it? A few of them really struck out with me (ha, I killed Pooh). However, some of the final fantasy and kingdom hearts ones made me realize how much I love(d?) those games.

In any case, I'm going to go fire up the ps 1.

I like vgcats, but the fetus jokes were a little too much for me.

That was another one that was squarely under the 'meh' category. I don't get really offended by stuff like that but IT. ISN'T. FUNNY.

Although it made me remember a dramatic interuptation I once heard at a speech meet about that sort of topic. It sucked.

One thing you can't tell from reading through the archives in one sitting is that the last 20 or 30 strips cover about two years.  It's yet another of the Silver Age websites now passing into history.  I guess it's still technically alive though, 259 being one the funniest strips of any comic.

By the way, I met Scott Ramsoomair at A-Kon 18 back in '07.  Timid guy.  This was quite apt:

I've heard somewhere that Scot Ransoomair's main problem is that he never draws webcomics because he's too busy going to conventions as Scott Ransoomair, famous webcomic artist.

Also, his comics aren't funny.  That's a pretty big problem too.

Penny Arcade, on the other hand, never fails to make me laugh, and I realize that makes me a pariah in some circles.

For example:

Web comics, bah the ones you mentioned are barely worth reading! Of course you'll always find something remotely or absolutely hilarious in those types of series as the artist is certainly trying his/her best.

The best example of one these webcomics
. Also some strips have been published, thus removing this one from the stigma of "Not too good to be published."

I also read this mans series, although I will admit he barely updates the thing, he has been making his comics for a very long time. Here is a very good example of his work.

I liken this to what I like to call, a 'series binge.'

You know, when you find a good series of comics or videos on Youtube and you won;t stop watching or dreading them for hours 'till everything has been seen.

 Damn you xkcd.

As long as we're going to plug general webcomics to archive-binge, you must all read the entirety of Schlock Mercenary.  Not the Basic Training link, the First Page link.

It's a semi-hard, space-opera comedy about a talking pile crap, an author-insert mad scientist, and bone headed mercenaries in the year 3000.  It's also been updated every single day since August of 2000, with a contextual punchline in every strip, all written by a Mormon tech-support man.

Actual published authors consider it once of the finest works of modern fiction you can read.  And I met the author of that, also at A-Kon 18.  Incredibly cool and personable geek, who was stuck open-miking in front of 300 pissed off otaku, and knocked them dead with a barrage of nerd comedy.

My current favourite is the little known book of biff

All the "strips" are just a picture and caption, which is great because biff can do the funniest thing, and you don't read a few frames ahead.

You can start from the begining and go backwards, or do it in reverse, because every strip is stand alone.

Once again, it updates every weekday. This really is something of a diamond in the rough.

Biff could probably have surgery to get that extra lip removed, as well as all that eyebrow.

I just read one, and I sort of smirked. It was the Frosty the Snowman one.

At first I was like "Eww, furries."

Then I was like "Oh, a dancing snowman with funny faces. This is good."

Then I was like "Oh, he's evil. Okay, he's killing those horrible little furry children. Okay."

Then the last panel came, and I was like "That was sort of funny, how he repeated the last line, but in a SCccaaaarrRRrryyy way. WoOoOoo. Looks like this took a while to make. Huh."

"I better write a long, pointless post about it."
