So I embark on this really nice site with an underground river, overground river, and a magma pipe, but somehow didn't notice that there was a cavern on the site. I realized my error when I looked at the minimap and half of it was red. The cavern is inhabited by 98 kobolds, one of them a Swordmaster, another an Elite Marksman. Roughly one third of the population is military of some kind, with a large number of thieves.

Of course, there is a twist to all of it. They're all marked as friendly. However, I know that eventually one of the thieves will try to steal something, of mine and probably spark a conflict.

I also know that it will be epic.

I think you have allready won.....

My second game ever I had an embark like that, of course, I had no idea what it was or what i was doing and eventually quit out of frustration......really wish I could get that back now.......

Thing is, none of them are actually inside the cavern. It's too small. They're all milling about outside.

Dwarf fortress, it has taught history well.

I wonder what a half dwarf, half kobold looks like...A few generations later, the halfbreeds will try to resurrect their lost kobold culture, and start snatching babies.

Well this is quite normal in DF now. If you embark on a Dark Tower for example, the goblins will be friendly also.

Personally, if I'm going to do that, I take seven marksdwarfs, and storm the place like a small, foul smelling swat team.
