How do I fix this??

Lol, to bad my river freezes over during the winter. Although I do have my farm resivoir at the beginining of the magma channel.

Magma will evaporate. I bet you could wait forever and you could still recover the lower levels for how slow magma flows and evaporates.

Just dump water over the breach pronto!

Cave-in some ground from above into the magma channel to stop the flow, then pour in some water into lower level and mine out

If that wasn't the bottom floor I would say carve a huge resivoir underneeth to hold the excess lava, then sacrifice a peasent to mine below through the floor so the lava is drained.

I solved it by pouring water on it. And all the magma evaporated.  I fixed the hole in the roof.  So no permanent damage done.  ;D
